The Chair of the Somaliland National Elections Commission, Mr Jama Mohamoud Omer has formally confirmed the date of the Somaliland Presidential elections in 2009.

Speaking to the media at the offices of the National Elections Commission in Hargeisa, Mr Jama Mohamoud Omer stated that voting will take place on the 31th of May 2009.
