institution building. The Minister informed also about the preparations for the
forthcoming presidential election may 31. The Minister thanked the Swedish Government
in their effort to support Somaliland when it comes democracy, institution building
and good governance.
Mr Amir Adan briefed the Minister about his visit to Somaliland.
Mr Amir Adan said, I am here to learn how Somaliland built democratic institutions,
create peace and stability without much support from the International Community. I am
impressed about what I have seen and it is encouraging. I can understand the frustration
Somaliland people feel about the lack of recognition. I am sure that Somaliland will be
an independent country soon. This visit gave me good experience about practicing democracy
in Somaliland, Africa, a region where democracy is rare.
